POSITION TITLE: Project Manager

This position may be located in either the San Jose or San Francisco office.
POSITION
Project Managers at The Company are an integral part of the team and key to maximizing The Company's competitive ability in a rapid change industry, where, for contractor and customer alike, the use of more productive tools has created a "smarter industry."
Working closely with the Chief Estimator, Director of Project Management, and other Project Managers, this individual will have responsibility for bringing in and managing a piece of the overall business - from cultivating customer relationships to managing projects through to completion.
Specific responsibilities include:
· Bring in and successfully manage projects through to completion (Negotiating, Estimating, Budgeting, and Scheduling).
· Quickly assimilate The Company business systems, efficiencies, team credo, e.g.: consistent practices, work, customer service, flexibility, rapid response, concern for people, integrity.
· Develop solid positive relationships with the team at headquarters and in the other offices.
· Contribute as a member of the management team bringing a business perspective to sales, marketing, and company success issues.
· Set high ethical standards in all practices and relationships within and outside of CEI.
· Be open to learning new ways and the mentoring process, and, in turn, be a good mentor to others.
· Communicate openly, clearly, and concisely at all organizational levels and with customers.
· Bring in and complete projects that are profitable and that enhance the objectives of the company.
· Provide direct input to proposals, strategic plans, client presentations, and contract negotiations.
· Provide technical and operational direction to assigned project personnel; serve as a consultant in technical problem solving.
· Maintain close contact with projects, providing technical support and guidance.
· Maintain continual contacts with the vendor community.
EXPERIENCE
Candidates need to possess a thorough knowledge of the National Electric Code and have demonstrated experience performing all levels and types of project management activities (negotiating, estimating, planning/scheduling, and cost engineering) including:
· Quantification cost analysis, escalation and contingency analysis.
· Design/build ability from plan layout and criteria
· Pricing, labor and equipment productivity, and derivation of labor rates.
· Systematic take off from plans and specifications.
· The ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems, combined with a technical knowledge of engineering procurement, construction techniques, and technical development within the current industry. A "hands-on" perspective, combined with computer literacy would be desirable.
· A demonstrated ability to bring in business and manage it through to successful, profitable completion.
· Skills in apprising management of the quality and risks of an estimate for unit price and lump sum contract bidding.
Ten years of project management experience is preferred with dollar volumes of $4-6 million per year.
