Position Overview

American Constructors is seeking a marketing director to be based in Austin, TX, who will work collaboratively with the business development director and oversee the marketing team. The successful candidate should possess a broad set of skills including a strong aptitude for sales and marketing and solid written and verbal communication skills.. The individual must also have the ability to manage multiple projects and work under constant deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail is required.  

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for firm’s overall marketing program
  • Establish marketing policies and procedures
  • Determine marketing objectives to meet company goals
  • Support business development with tools and processes to achieve corporate goals including market research
  • Work closely with senior management to develop and execute a strategic marketing plan that supports achieving business goals
  • Monitor and control firmwide marketing activities, expenses, results, and other metrics
  • Oversee the management of all RFQ/RFP(s) submissions according to strict guidelines and processes
  • Manage specialized consultants, such as advertising, public relations, or graphic design firms as needed
  • Oversee management of marketing collateral and internal/external communications
  • Manage employees within the marketing department and foster a positive team culture that provides ongoing education and growth opportunities
  • Contribute technical and non-technical writing as needed
  • Supervise database maintenance for all marketing information

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience (preferably in the AEC industry)
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory and management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership/managerial and mentoring/teaching skills
  • Experience with RFQ and RFP preparation a must
  • Experience conducting market research and surveys
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resource files
  • Ability to quickly learn and organize complex technical information
  • Detail oriented and extremely organized, with proven ability to establish priorities and achieve results
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional groups
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with standard software products including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Proficiency with layout and graphics programs such as InDesign and Photoshop is desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work and solve problems under pressure and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines consistently
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Must be able to pass a physical and drug screen
