POSITION TITLE:         Composite Project Engineer

Composite Project Engineer (CPE):
The CPE is responsible for technical, schedule, and cost execution of both development and production programs for major composite fabrication processes manufacturing. Areas of involvement include: Manufacturing Processes, Component Sub-Assembly, Value Added Engineering, and Quality Management Systems

 

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:       

  • Perform detailed designs, layouts and analysis tasks for company product lines in meeting OEM customer design requirements.
  • Establish bill of materials. Establish and track project schedules. Interface with shop personnel to obtain resources and priorities to meet program schedule.
  • Track parts through the production process, document changes, verify tooling and component specification inspect dimensional aspects of tooling and components.
  • Establish manufacturing schedules necessary to support on time delivery and completion of systems, assemblies, spare parts orders and repairs.
  • Actively demonstrate a commitment for meeting internal and external customers’ needs in a manner that provides superior customer satisfaction.
  • Actively oversee the department raw material and consumable/support procurement, maintenance, and inventory processes.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
  • Responsible to meet annual objectives including productivity, schedule integrity, cost reduction, and process improvement.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:                

  • 2-5 years of experience in polymer and composites manufacturing and project engineering management
  • Demonstrates an extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
  • Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals,
  • Capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact, as well as providing leadership and guidance to less experienced professionals.
  • Experience in implementing Six-Sigma principles and practices
  • Strong leadership skills, Excellent communication skills
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Experience with Pro E & Solid Works is desirable

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Polymer or related Engineering
